Gasparilla Marathon
With this being the last year of the Gasparilla Marathon, everyone was registered and excited to pound the pavement of Tampa Bay one more time for 26.2 miles. And for some, this would be their "Maiden Voyage" as first time marathoners! Poncho has already agreed to run with Marc Reed for his organization, Wheelchairs for Warriors. Juli Goldstein, Ms. Florida would be joining the team as well to push disabled vet Patrick Webster. Paul was driving down from Michigan the day before and at the last moment figured he might as well step up and do the marathon instead of the half...this being his first marathon. Chris was back for another Gasparilla Marathon, wanting to get one more under his belt before the race is gone. Audrey, who had to pull out from last year's event due to an injury, was ready to finish her first marathon. Though a bit chilly at the start, the weather was beautiful leading to a great race day. There was so much support throughout the event for Wheelchairs for Warriors and Paul and Poncho were honored to run with them. Congrats to all finishers, especially Paul and Audrey for finishing their first marathons!
