Overall Rank = 785/?
Age Group = F25-29
Age Group Rank =41/59

Pre-Race Routine and Warm-Up:
Pumped up the music loud on the drive to Fort DeSoto Park. After finally getting in the parking lot from the long line, I did some stretches before heading toward transition. Got body marked and set up my transition area. Then the Smith Sports posse arrived to cheer me and Anne Marie on!!

Swim

15:14 | 0.5 miles | 1m 53s  min/100m

Performance Comments:
I survived and that's what counts. This was my longest swim distance, but I dove right in tackling the waves. Every time I would start to get into a groove, I would get pulled under or kicked. The wave had too many people in it. Was slightly worried about the foggy weather, but it was actually quite nice. I couldn't really see the bouys, so I wasn't focusing on how far away the next one was. I just tried to focus on the swimming and I made it.

What Would You Do Different?
Although I am pretty happy with the time, I wish I would have trained more! I didn't get in the pool but a handful of times, so a little more water time would have been beneficial.

T1

5:39

Performance Comments:
Left the water with a horrible cramp in my right side. It seemed like it took forever to get from the water to transition. I didn't think I took that long in transition, so that long trek from the water to my bike killed me.

Bike

32:28 | 10 miles | 18.48 mph

Performance Comments:
It felt good, but it just seemed like everyone kept passing me and I was barely moving.

What Would You Do Different?
?

T2

0:50

Performance Comments:
In and out. Just had to drop the bike and helmet off and grab the visor.

Run

40:28 | 4 miles | 10m 07s  min/mile

Performance Comments:
My first real run besides training runs after the lovely stitches in my toe. So I took it kind of easy, which was a plus since the cramp I had in my right side came back halfway through the run.

What Would You Do Different?
Push my toe to it’s limits!

Post Race Activities and Cool Down:
Once arriving home, I unpacked the car and cleaned everything up. Ate some food and was off to a much needed shower, followed by stretching. Tried to catch a quick nap, but was unsuccessful. Then it was off to the gym for Matt's seminar.

Event Comments:
Overall, I thought the race was a great success. I crossed the finish line with no injuries and that is what counts. It's just the beginning of tri season, so there is a lot to look forward to.

Would You Do This Race Again?
Yes
