Pre-Race Routine and Warm-Up:
Two person teams. We planned our course, drove roads, set up gear, filled camel backs, and made sure our maps and settings were correct.

Performance Comments:
Great time. Paddling is work! 16 miles on gravel roads, about 4 miles of single track, 6 miles of paddling, 5 miles of orienteering. My team mate, Cliff Perez, is a former marine and can read a compass.

What Would You Do Different?
Bring a pad for the canoe seat. Bring kayak paddles for the canoe, they are faster.

Post Race Activities and Cool Down:
Nothing

Event Comments:
Everyone should try this at least once. I've never spent so much time chest deep in swamps. Keep my partner! Marines know how to read a topo map.

Would You Do This Race Again?
See you next year.
