Pre-Race Routine and Warm-Up:
Good spaghetti dinner the night before. Drank lots of water and Gatorade for two days trying to solve the cramp problems. I still don't eat breakfast - I need to find something I like and can eat.

Performance Comments:
Good swim. Easy cruise. Slightly disappointed - goal was to break 20:00. Before Coach Ali took over, I swam 25:00. Pretty hard to complain now.

What Would You Do Different?
I thought I was positioned in the middle outside left. When the gun went off, I seemed to be back left. Not sure how that happened. Probably only cost a minute, only 60 people.

All good. I like to stand up and hammer short hills. As soon as I stood up, right calf cramped up again. No problem at all as long as I spun and I could spin very hard. Just couldn't stand up and hammer hard. No pain and no problems. Just one full water bottle by mistake but seemed to be enough.

What Would You Do Different?
Next race I'll try Endurance formula before the race. I started lots of stretching, too.

Great. Ran very well. Felt good. Just three seconds less and I would have been 7:59's! Sounds so much better than 8:00's.

Hey...Beth was there...second time ever!

Event Comments:
Great having Poncho pushing me and cheering me on. On the start of the run he said, "You better be in the sevens or I'm telling Coach!"

Would You Do This Race Again?
Yes, next year even faster - relative.
